A Sunday Success!!

Gracie woke up early this morning so I quickly got dressed and raced outside with her, we had double success today! I congratulated her and made a big fuss and gave her a treat both times she went potty.

Let the housetraining begin1

When we came back inside she got her “you went outside” treat, then I gave her pain killer and antibiotics hidden in her breakfast, then I did her eyes, her nose crimple and her ears, treats for all of those things as well. The vet did say to feed her up and get her to a normal weight.

I’m back in bed with my coffee and Sweet Pea is in her bed on top of the bed between  us and is snoring away happily.

It’s just lovely watching her confidence grow. She skips around the house happily now, tail up and curled, she does little light dances and is full of joy. Going outside is less scary, she’s still a tiny bit hesitant but not shaking scared like before.

I am not in this desperate deep love like I had with Pugsley and that’s good. When Pugsley died I went to a very dark place emotionally and didn’t think it was healthy. With Grace I can love her, enjoy her, grow with her, it feels different to Pugsley. Gracie will always know I love her and she is having a wonderful time with us so far.

I’m looking forward to us doing road trips together one day, for now no plans of that, just let her learn to be a family dog and be happy. I’m also making the effort to me a bit more pack leadery so that she can feel more secure.

Happy Sunday from Gracie and I.
